SanDisk’s New Wireless USB Stick to Expand Your Mobile Phone’s Storage

Imagine, how will you store all your documents and videos if your Mobile Phone comes without an external SD card slot OR with a limited space of the SD card? You can save your files on the Cloud but an Internet Connectivity will be required to access them.

Here comes SanDisk’s new Wireless USB Stick which adds storage to your Phone or Tablet devices. All you need to do is you just have to plug the USB device into your laptop or desktop for charging for about 1 or 2 hours. You can also transfer files while charging.

Now install SanDisk Connect app on your Mobile or Tablet and Tap the little power button on the USB stick to turn it on, for establishing the connectivity. Now go to the WiFi setting of your phone and connect to the WiFi Hotspot created by the USB stick.

Initially the WiFi has no security but you can add password to prevent Data Theft.

Now all your files in the USB stick can be accessed from your Mobile Phone or Tablet just by using the SanDisk Connect app which you have just installed. One better thing about the USB Stick is that you can connect to multiple devices simultaneously.

Sometimes SanDisk Connect app crashes while reading large files like big PDF files.
The android would not allow you to browse the web while connected to the USB Stick.

The USB Stick comes for both Android and iOS and can be bought from Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, Ebay etc.

Probably, this would be easiest way to expand your Mobile Phone's storage.

How to Increase Data Transmission Speed of your Pendrive

Pendrive, also known as USB Flash Drive is a most essential one in now a days. USB flash drives are typically rewritable, removable and much smaller than an Optical Disc. Most weigh less than 30 grams. As Pendrives don’t have any moving part so they are smaller, faster, durable and reliable

USB flash drives are often used for the same purpose for which floppy disks or CDs were used, i.e., for storage, data backup and transfer of computer files.

Some Pendrive’s data transfer speed is very low which depends on many factors. If you copy videos or music to the Pendrive, the data transfer speed is high compared to application and exe files. Also if you use older Pendrive your data transfer is low because now a days we use USB 3.0 or 2.0 version Pendrive but earlier it wasn’t.

Somehow we can increase the speed of data transmission by changing some default settings.
Let’s  see,

Methods for increasing Data-Transfer speed :

Always use NTFS file system:

We can send large files (more than 4GB) only when Pendrive is in NTFS mode. To enable this mode right click on the pendrive and click on format, select NTFS, uncheck Quick Format and then click Start.

Check for Disk Errors:

Right click on the Pendrive and choose the option Properties. Under the properties tab click on Tools and click on the Check now button. After that click on Start, it takes some time to check errors.

Changing Device Policy:

Right click on the Pendrive and click on Properties, under properties tab click on Hardware, select your USB Drive and click on properties. A new window will pop up in that click on Change Settings. Now click on the Policies tab and select the Better Performance and click OK.

NOTE : If you choose Better Performance you must always safely remove whenever you eject the Pendrive. Remove the Pendrive when it is not in use.

Find IMEI Number of Your Lost Phone

IMEI number, a universally unique number associated with your mobile number, uniquely identifies your device within the mobile network.

If your phone is stolen or gets lost, you would need to provide the IMEI number to the telecom operator for them to blacklist your device and prevent anyone else from using your phone.

If your phone is with you then just by opening phone dialer and dialing *#06#, you can know the IMEI number of your phone.

But if the phone is stolen and you didn't record your IMEI number then you can retrieve the IMEI number from your Google account.

Just go to google.com/settings and sign-in using your Google account that you had used.
Now click on the android tab, here you'll see all the android devices that are connected to your Google account and it will also show the IMEI number of your phone as well.

Working principle of Airbags in Cars

The airbag system is one of the most important parts of your vehicle safety device. Like seat belts, airbag - a soft pillow to land against in a crash - has been around for many years. In 1980's, first commercial airbags appeared in the automobiles. It's a system consisting of a flexible fabric envelope designed to inflate rapidly during an automobile collision.

Modern vehicle contain multiple airbags in the various sides and frontal locations of the passenger seating position. The most important parts of the success of the airbag system are the Crash Sensors. These small pieces of electronics are designed to tell when the vehicle has been damaged in an accident.

The signals obtained from various sensors are fed into the Airbag control unit (ACU), which determines from the angle of impact the severity or the force of crash along with other variables.

Airbag system contains a mixture of Sodium Azide (NaN3), KNO3 and SiO2. The reactions, in order, are as follows.

(1)  2 NaN3 → 2 Na + 3 N2 (g)
(2)  10 Na + 2 KNO3 → K2O + 5 Na2O + N2 (g)
(3)  K2O + Na2O + 2 SiO2 → K2O3Si + Na2O3Si (silicate glass)

  • How fast does an Airbag deploy?

An airbag can deploy in about 55 milliseconds, according to the engineering study. This is about the same amount of time it takes you to blink your eyes or sneeze means airbag deployment is very quick.
  • How much does an Airbag cost?

If you want to replace or repair an airbag in your vehicle, the cost will vary depending on the type of car, as well as which airbag needs to be replaced. Generally, budget between $400-800 for a driver's side airbag. A passenger side airbag can cost up to $1,000.
  • How to know if my car has faulty Airbags?

If your vehicle has an airbag light, and it is lit up, this could indicate faulty airbags or a problem with the airbag system otherwise there is no real way of knowing if the vehicle has a faulty airbag. If the airbag light comes on, it is best to have the vehicle checked out by a professional.

7. Everything runs in a window: Apps from the Windows Store now open in the same format that desktop apps do and can be resized and moved around.

8. Microsoft has added title bar also for the apps from Windows Store using which now you can easily maximize, minimize, and close with a click.

9. Universal Search Bar has now become more powerful and also File Explorer now displays your recent files and frequently visited folders making for finding files you’ve worked on is easier.
